Incorporated into a multi-rib pattern designed to reduce noise generation, extensive use has been made of curved grooves which alternate with wide longitudinal grooves for aquaplaning resistance. The new tire retains the "Zero" concept of a central semi-slick rib that guarantees driving precision under acceleration. The outer element, with robust blocks, ensures excellent dry grip whilst the inner circumferential element has wide grooves for rapid water dispersal. The shoulder sipes moderate the rigidity of the longitudinal tread blocks to improve quietness and comfort but, comfort in particular, is resultant of the multi-pitch pattern and compliant tread compound.
